*Programs not listed below should have similar procedures.
Note: Clicking the close button does not completely quit these types of programs. The program will continue to run in the background using the network and computer resources even if all windows are closed. An icon should be visible in the status area of the task bar (lower left-hand corner by the time). To quit the program, right-click the icon in the task bar and select Exit.

Kazaa:
1. Open Kazaa.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options. The Options window will open.
3. Click the Traffic tab.
4. Set the maximum number of simultaneous uploads to 0.
5. Select the Disable sharing of files with other Kazaa members check box.
6. Click the Advanced tab.
7. Select the option Do not function as a SuperNode.
8. Click OK.

Morpheus:
1. Open Morpheus.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options. The Options window will open.
3. Click the Traffic tab.
4. Set the maximum number of simultaneous uploads to 0.
5. Select the Disable sharing files with other Morpheus members check box.
6. Click the Advanced tab.
7. Select the option Do not function as a SuperNode.
8. Click OK .

LimeWire:
1. Open LimeWire.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options. The Options window will open.
3. Click Sharing.
4. The Shared Directories window should be empty. If a directory is listed, select the directory and click Remove.
5. In the Shared Extensions area, clear the Extensions box.
6. Click Uploads.
7. Set Max Upload Slots to 0.
8. Move the Upload Bandwidth slider to 0%.
9. Click OK.

WinMx:
1. Open WinMx.
2. Click Shared Files.
3. There should be no directory names displayed in the File Path area. If a directory is listed, select the directory and click Remove Path.
4. Click settings and select Share Settings from the menu.
5. Clear the File Types To Share Box.
6. Click OK.
