Open the AOL Instant Messenger Sign On box.
Click on the Setup link (the wrench).
In the category section on the left make sure Sign On/Off is highlighted.
On the bottom, right click on the Connection button.
Click on the Auto Configure button. (This will search for a port that AIM can connect to.)
When this process is finished AOL Instant Message should work.
